The relocation presented several challenges including a constrained budget and reduced square footage. User interviews were informative and the final solution is representative of the importance that the client/architect relationship plays. Cardboard Box is a mobile learning lab offering educational experiences that include all things creative and innovative with a focus on integrating the arts with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
We were asked to design a mobile classroom that could accommodate up to 20 students. In order to provide the space needed and the mobility required we created a folding structure that becomes a teaching tool in itself. Our solution utilizes sustainable strategies including reclaimed wood, recycled steel and PV panels to charge on-board lithium ion batteries.Read More
The Downtown Park is a signature 7-acre park site located on Town-owned land bounded by South Academy Street, East Park, Walker, Walnut, and Kildaire Farm Roads. The firms, Cole Jenest and Stone and Halvorson Design Partnership prepared the master plan for Downtown Park which included a Town Square space along Academy St. and features such as a large fountain, outdoor performance space, and open lawn areas.
